Previews Wishlist Ιανουάριος 2013

Καλή χρονιά σε όλους, με υγεία, χαρά, και πολλά κόμικς! Ο πρώτος κατάλογος του 2013 είναι εδώ και μας ενημερώνει για τα κόμικς που θα κυκλοφορήσουν από το Μάρτιο και μετά. Υπάρχουν πράγματα για όλα τα γούστα και για όλα τα πορτοφόλια...

- Η Dark Horse μας προσφέρει το επικό μάνγκα Lone Wolf and Cub σε νέα, οmnibus έκδοση! Επιτέλους οι υπεύθυνοι της εταιρείας προσπάθησαν να αντιμετωπίσουν δύο σημαντικά κατά τη γνώμη μου προβλήματα της προηγούμενης έκδοσης. Πρώτον το μικρό μέγεθος των σελίδων το οποίο θα είναι πλέον λίγο μεγαλύτερο (από 10x15 cm γίνεται 12x18 cm), και δεύτερον την τιμή (περίπου τρεις τόμοι στην τιμή των δύο).

- Για κομικσόφιλους που (όπως εγώ) δεν πολυδιαβάζουν υπερηρωικά κόμικς, θεωρώ ότι ανθολογίες αφιερωμένες σε συγκεκριμένους δημιουργούς αποτελούν εξαιρετικές ευκαιρίες. Αυτό το μήνα η DC Comics προσφέρει δύο εκδόσεις που ανήκουν σ'αυτήν την κατηγορία, η μία για τον Eduardo Risso και η άλλη για τον Archie Goodwin. Όσον αφορά την πρώτη, μου κακοφαίνεται κάπως ότι θα είναι ασπρόμαυρη, ειδικά στην περίπτωση των κόμικς που πρωτοκυκλοφόρησαν στην ανθολογία Wednesday Comics τα οποία θεωρώ πως είχαν εξαιρετικό χρωματισμό.


- Χωρίς καμία επιφύλαξη προτείνω την ανατύπωση του εκπληκτικού Batman Year 100, σε σχέδιο και σενάριο του ταλαντούχου Paul Pope, καθώς επίσης και το νέο Artist's edition από την IDW για τους λάτρεις του John Byrne. Το Wolverine Adamantium Collection πιστεύω ότι λόγω της τιμής του (σχεδόν 150 ευρώ) απευθύνεται σχεδόν αποκλειστικά στους φανατικούς οπαδούς του Wolverine. Από την άλλη πρέπει να του αναγνωρίσω ότι η τιμή αυτή είναι δικαιολογημένη (τεράστιο μέγεθος που πλησιάζει τα Artist's editions, 720 έγχρωμες σελίδες, και θήκη/κουτί).

- Διαθέσιμα και πάλι αυτόν το μήνα, τα Punk Rock Jesus και Wizard's Tale. Τα προτείνω και τα δύο τόσο για το στόρι όσο και για το σχέδιό τους και σας παραθέτω πιο κάτω μερικές τυχαία επιλεγμένες σελίδες για να πάρετε μια ιδέα της αισθητικής τους.

- Γενικά αντί να διαβάζω αμερικάνικα "τευχάκια", περιμένω να κυκλοφορήσουν σε trade paperpack. Στην περίπτωση όμως του Five Ghosts ίσως κάνω μια εξαίρεση καθώς τόσο το στόρυ όσο και το σχέδιο, μου έχουν προκαλέσει ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον. Μπορείτε να μάθετε περισσότερα από τη συνέντευξη που έδωσαν οι δημιουργοί του στο CBR.

- Στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1950 οι Joe Simon και Jack Kirby μετέτρεψαν τα όνειρα και τους εφιάλτες των αναγνωστών τους σε κόμικς. Αποτέλεσμα αυτής της ασυνήθιστης πρακτικής ήταν μια σειρά τεσσάρων τευχών που συλλέγεται τώρα σε έναν πολυτελή τόμο. Στο flickr έχει ανεβάσει κάποιος τα τεύχη αυτά (1ο, 2ο, 3ο και 4ο) και μπορείτε έτσι να πάρετε μια ιδέα για το τι παίζει (έχοντας υπ'οψιν σας βέβαια και την κακή ποιότητα εκτύπωσης των κόμικς εκείνης της εποχής).

- Από την Χώρα του Ανατέλλοντος Ηλίου έχω δύο ακόμη προτάσεις. Η πρώτη είναι το Unico, ίσως το σημαντικότερο παιδικό μάνγκα του Osamu Tezuka, με λίγο τσιμπημένη τιμή, αλλά με περισσότερες από 400 έγχρωμες σελίδες! Δεύτερη είναι το Kitaro μία ακόμη δουλειά του εκπληκτικού Shigeru Mizuki από την Καναδική εταιρεία Drawn and Quarterly. Είναι MUST!!!

- Τελευταίο έμεινε το Dave Sim: Conversations, μια συλλογή από συνεντεύξεις του γνωστού δημιουργού του Cerebus. Ως μεγάλος θαυμαστής του είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα απολαύσω αυτήν την έκδοση που επιμελήθηκε η University Press of Mississippi, μια εκδοτική με σημαντικότατη συνεισφορά στη αγγλόφωνη βιβλιογραφία όσον αφορά την ιστορία και τη θεωρία του μέσου των κόμικς.
